Job Title: Street Cleansing Operative

Location: Newport, Wales

Salary: £12.21 PAYE (weekly pay)

Section: Waste Management

Working Pattern: Rostered shifts, including weekends and bank holidays

Hours: 7:30am - 3:30pm (Mon-Thurs), 7:30am - 3:00pm (Fri)

We are seeking reliable, hardworking, and committed individuals to join our client's Street Cleansing team. As a Street Cleansing Operative, you will be responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming streets across the city. Your duties will include the completion of scheduled cleansing tasks and refuse collection, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and public service.

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform daily street cleansing tasks as per contract specifications and route schedules.

* Comply with all Health & Safety regulations, including use of PPE and uniforms.

* Undertake refuse collection duties as required.

* Report any incidents, faults, or hazards promptly.

* Attend training courses as instructed.

* Work collaboratively with supervisors and fellow team members.

* Provide a courteous and helpful service to the public.

What We're Looking For:

Essential:

* Good knowledge of the Newport area.

* Previous experience in street cleansing or refuse services.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks, including walking, lifting, bending, and carrying.

* Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

* Flexibility to work a shift pattern including weekends, bank holidays, and extra-statutory days.

Desirable:

* Full UK driving licence.

* Experience working in the public sector.

* Strong customer care skills and a positive, self-motivated attitude.
