Overview:

The Flavour Network have an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and fast-paced fresh produce business as a QA Inspector. As Quality Assurance Inspector you will play a vital part in maintaining high quality and safety standards across all stages of the operation. From goods-in to dispatch. As QA Inspector you will assess product quality, monitor production standards, and ensure all produce dispatched to customers meets strict supermarket specifications.

This position of QA Inspector would suit someone with great attention to detail, confidence in making product quality decisions, and a passion for working in a hands-on, operational environment.

Responsibilities of the QA Inspector:

Inspect and assess incoming, in-process, and outgoing produce against specifications, recording accurate details and taking appropriate action for non-conformance.

*

Monitor and document product quality, weights, colours, and defects, deciding whether product requires re-sorting, rejection, or adjustment.

*

Conduct destructive testing and additional quality checks throughout production to maintain compliance with customer standards.

*

Enforce and maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) on the production floor, reporting issues and providing coaching where necessary.

*

Collaborate with Team Leaders, Line Managers, and Production Teams to resolve quality concerns and minimise reject rates.

*

Calibrate technical equipment daily/weekly and withdraw any equipment found out of specification, completing all relevant documentation.

*

Verify product labels and information against internal systems to ensure accuracy and compliance.

*

Maintain a high standard of housekeeping, hygiene, and food safety practices in your area of responsibility.

*

Train and mentor new or less experienced team members in line with company procedures and training plans.

*

Ensure all quality records, reports, and traceability documents are accurately completed and compliant with legal and customer standards.

*

Support operational health & safety by ensuring risk assessments are reviewed and incidents reported promptly.

Requirements of the QA Inspector:

Essential:

*

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and changing environment

*

Product knowledge, confidence, and decision-making ability typically gained within 6 months in a QA/production environment

*

Good understanding of fresh produce defects, product handling, and processing standards

*

Ability to make confident, accurate decisions about product quality at any stage of the process

*

Intermediate IT skills (Microsoft Excel and Word)

*

Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to engage confidently at all levels

Desirable:

*

Previous experience within the fresh produce or food manufacturing industry

*

Audit training or experience
