Rate: £175 per day (Umbrella) inside IR35 (paye) 
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 6 months + 
Hours: 40 hours per week (5 days per week)

Our Engineering Consultancy client is currently recruiting for a Buyer to support a Procurement function within a leading engineering organisation. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing procurement transactions and supporting the purchase-to-pay process, ensuring activities are delivered efficiently and in line with company procedures.

The role can be performed remotely, with the main office based in Stevenage.

Key Responsibilities
Raise and manage purchase orders using the company ERP system in line with operational SLAs and the Preferred Supplier List (PSL).

Prepare, issue and evaluate Requests for Quotations (RFQs) to ensure best value.

Process goods receipting accurately within agreed operational SLAs.

Respond to and resolve procurement queries from requisitioners and stakeholders.

Manage Pre-Evaluation Questionnaires (PEQs) for onboarding new suppliers.

Expedite purchase orders with suppliers to ensure delivery dates and quantities are met.

Conduct low-value procurement negotiations to secure favourable prices and service levels.

Analyse purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities and areas of non-compliance with PSLs.Desirable Skills

Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills

Good planning and organisational ability with the capacity to manage multiple tasks

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal teams

Able to work independently and as part of a team
