An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part Qualified Management Accountant to join a well-established and thriving SME business based on the South Manchester / Cheshire border. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and Finance Director, this role offers full responsibility for management accounts, reporting, and the month-end process.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and ambitious individual looking to further develop their finance career within a growing SME environment, where you will gain hands-on experience and increased responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary on financial performance.
- Producing P&L and balance sheet reports and completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Managing the month-end process, including posting journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Assisting supporting budgeting and forecasting, providing financial analysis to support business decisions.
- Monitoring cashflow and assisting with VAT return preparation.
- Managing the full sales and purchase ledgers, including invoicing, credit control, resolving customer queries, supplier reconciliations and payment runs.
- Completing bank reconciliations, expense processing and company card reconciliations.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and identifying opportunities to improve processes and reporting within the finance function.
Key Requirements
- Part qualified CIMA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Management Accountant or similar role within engineering, manufacturing or construction sector.
- Experience preparing and producing full management accounts
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software such as; SAP, Sage, Xero and other relevant platforms.
- Strong Excel skills and an analytical mindset
- Analytical, inquisitive, proactive, and confident mindset who works well as part of a team and independently
- Driven and ambitious with a desire to develop within a growing SME business
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to work with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
