Housing Support Worker / Homelessness Case Worker

Location: Blaenau Gwent, Ebbw Vale area

Salary: £24,242.40

37 hours per week | Temporary (with strong possibility of moving to a permanent contract)

Are you passionate about supporting people through mental health challenges and helping them maintain a safe and stable home?

We're looking for a dedicated Caseworker to join a supportive team delivering vital housing-related support to individuals facing complex mental health and tenancy challenges.

This is a rewarding and fast-paced role supporting people who may be homeless or at risk of losing their tenancy. You'll:

  • Provide emotional, practical, and crisis support to individuals with complex needs
  • Support people to secure and sustain accommodation, preventing eviction
  • Complete assessments, risk management, and support plans
  • Offer guidance around benefits, debt, and accessing wider services
  • Work closely with multi-agency partners including health and housing services
  • Support individuals through resettlement into new accommodation

You'll play a key role in empowering people to improve their wellbeing and regain stability.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting people with mental health challenges or emotional distress
  • Understanding of trauma-informed and person-centred approaches
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and risk management
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • A live DBS on the update service is essential for a quick start

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of welfare benefits or housing legislation
  • Experience working in the community or people's homes
  • Ability to speak Welsh
