This particular role will be based on the Wirral and you will become an integral part of the IT team, reporting to the Operations Manager and working closely with the wider IT team of over 40 individuals. Your new role
This role will report to the Operations Manager and you will be responsible for providing a high level of support to the school, working closely with more junior IT Engineers and the wider IT team based at other sites. As Senior IT Engineer, you will be supporting both staff and pupils by maintaining hardware and software, providing support and training around IT equipment and also with a strong focus on the provision of a cloud-based environment. From a technical IT support perspective, this will include the set-up and installation of new equipment (hardware and software), management and roll out of mobile devices such as laptops and Ipads, support staff and pupils in the safe and secure use of this equipment, and it will also involve working with hardware specific to the education sector such as projectors and interactive whiteboards. In this role, you will also be responsible for providing support from a server, network and cloud platform perspective, which could include the maintenance of network cabling, performing basic resolutions on networking equipment and performing checks on connectivity. In addition to the above, you will also be responsible for maintaining an up-to-date inventory of all IT equipment, as well as working closely with an IT Engineer and an apprentice IT engineer. Please note this role will be based on site 5 days a week in the Wirral area.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you will have a strong background working in an IT Engineer or Support role, ideally within the Education sector with a knowledge of education-specific technologies. Experience working on a cloud platform, as well as experience of networking would also be beneficial. A real passion for working in a demanding environment where you will have the opportunity to further develop, as well as a passion for working in the education sector, is essential.

The salary for this role, which is dependent on experience, is between £36,000 and £39,000, and they also offer 2 increases per academic year.
