Your new companyWe are seeking an experienced Carpenter / Joiner to join a responsive maintenance team working for a well-established social housing provider. This temporary contract involves carrying out day-to-day repairs in occupied properties, ensuring work is completed safely, professionally, and to a high standard.The successful candidate must be a joiner by trade, with the ability to undertake a range of associated maintenance tasks as required.Your new role

• Carry out responsive repairs and maintenance in occupied social housing properties.
• Complete all aspects of carpentry and joinery, including:
  • Internal and external door repairs
  • Lock changes and ironmongery
  • Skirting, architraves, and framework
  • Kitchen unit repairs and adjustments
• Undertake additional multi-trade tasks such as:
  • Patch plastering
  • Basic plumbing
  • Minor tiling
  • Making good after works
• Work professionally and respectfully in occupied homes, maintaining excellent customer service.
• Ensure all work meets required quality, safety, and compliance standards.
• Use PDA or job sheets to record work completed and materials used.
• Travel between properties across North Leicestershire, South Derbyshire, and South Nottinghamshire.

What you'll need to succeed

• Qualified Joiner / Carpenter (NVQ, City & Guilds or time-served).
• Strong experience in responsive maintenance within occupied properties.
• Ability to carry out additional multi-trade tasks confidently.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Own tools and transport.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
• Strong awareness of health & safety and safe working practices.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
