Insurance Broking Finance Controller

Location: North East London

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm

The Opportunity

Our client, a well-established insurance brokerage based in North East London, is looking for a detail-oriented Finance Controller to manage all financial operations for their delegated authority schemes and open market placements. This role requires strong experience in insurance finance, credit control, and excellent attention to detail.

If you are proactive, highly organised, and comfortable managing large datasets and financial processes, this is a great opportunity to join a supportive team working across both commercial and personal lines insurance. You will work closely with company directors to ensure accurate and efficient financial management.

Key Responsibilities

* Oversee all credit control and bookkeeping functions across commercial and personal lines schemes

* Manage client payments through the in-house Direct Debit facility, including daily BACS collections

* Process BACS advices for Direct Debit amendments, cancellations, and unpaid premiums

* Settle and post company invoices accurately and on time

* Process insurance premiums received via bank transfer

* Monitor and reconcile office and client bank accounts

* Prepare and issue commission statements for sub-agents

* Reconcile and settle open market insurer statements and commission payments

* Prepare monthly bordereaux and reconcile credit card statements

* Maintain and manage large financial datasets and spreadsheets
