Job Title: Quality Technician Department: Quality Reporting to: Quality Engineer About us: Epson Telford Limited was established in 1987, we are on a 50-acre site and operate a 24/7 manufacturing site.
We are the only European manufacturing and distribution site for ink cartridges and textile inks.
These products are shipped to an Epson warehouse in Germany where they are then distributed throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Quality and innovation is at the heart of everything we do, from our Cleanroom environment to our in-house machinery, design and technology improvements from which we use our own Epson 6-axis robots.
Position Summary: This role is responsible for the monitoring and controlling of Quality in the respective ETL production areas as directed by Quality Engineer / Quality Manager.
The Quality Technician will provide the Quality department with support into defect investigations, data analysis, line performance, and Quality projects that are being worked on within the department.
Duties and Responsibilities: To monitor and assist to ensure that all Quality checks are completed and documented by the offline Quality team.
Provide investigation and reports into process defects.
Provide analysis into top defects, showing trends and specific focus area’s and able to communicate in an acceptable format to be distributed to production, engineering and quality teams.
To support with training needs and where necessary create training packs in order to improve the level of skill and performance in relation to quality process and management.
To support Quality Engineers with real time investigations into Quality related issues, using an 8D approach to prevent re-occurrence.
Monitor / audit the operation and maintain the quality standards within the production process to assure quality controls and IS09001 standards are maintained.
Drive kaizen through investigation of improvements within working practices and line performances with the aim to drive DPM reductions.
Support with new product introduction / line evaluations and general 4M’s in relation to quality impact.
Support all projects as directed throughout the business in relation to quality controls Support the production team with any quality requests or queries to ensure quality standards are adhered to.
Qualifications (essential): GCSE Math/Eng Prof Qualification.
Level 4 Engineering HNC.
Experience (essential): 3 years’ experience.
Can demonstrate process improvements and positive impact (desirable): Level 3 Man Management.
Competent in ISO documentation creation and control.
ISO Auditing skills.
Supplier quality liaison experience.
Basic QC risk awareness.
