Our client is a specialist precision engineering business producing precision cut ground gears, splines, threads, gauges and tooling for high-performance industries.

Their components support sectors including aerospace, automotive, motorsport, oil and gas, marine and defence. Using advanced metrology, specialist equipment and highly skilled engineers, they deliver components to extremely exacting specifications.

The Role

This position sits within the Quality Laboratory, working as part of a team of seven and reporting to the Quality Manager.

You will work within an AS9100, ISO9001 and ISO17025 environment, carrying out inspection activities, interpreting engineering drawings and recording results in line with company systems and documentation.

Key responsibilities include:

Working within AS9100, ISO9001 and ISO17025 inspection environments
Cleaning inspection samples ready for inspection
Maintaining laboratory standards including safety, cleanliness, calibration and FOD control
Using visual inspection equipment to identify drawing requirements and measure defects
Identifying non-conformances and highlighting rework requirements
Using general measuring equipment including micrometers, surface testers and contour tracers
Using CMM equipment where required
Maintaining route card completion for each work order
Updating Mie Trak route completion for each work order
Ensuring full traceability of products and documentation
Working closely with manufacturing teams to support quality standardsAbout You

To be successful in this role you will have experience working within a precision engineering CNC environment, ideally within aerospace, motorsport or automotive.

You will also have:

Experience working within AS9100, ISO9001 or ISO17025 environments
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Experience with visual inspection equipment including microscopes and video inspection systems
Experience using general metrology equipment
CMM experience (advantageous)
Experience using Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
Experience using Mie Trak or similar production tracking systems
