Reporting to the Senior Engineer Valves - Engineer Valves & Actuators is required to support the development of the fully integrated technical solutions, maturity, programme and governance, covering the scope of Valves and Actuators.

This role will be responsible for reviewing and producing technical output on multiple fronts, working with a larger number of internal stakeholders, customers and supply chain on a truly global scale to deliver product designs for components within the scope of the role.

The role requires that the candidate work to integrate all factors into the design process to define the  product definition and supporting information, working on product development, through the product lifecycle, this will involve working in developing, iterative an ambiguous environment.

What we're looking for

Developing technical maturity of the Valves and Actuator product range.
Contribute to the delivery of the overall product definition, integrated within all supporting functions.
Generate creative solutions to challenges, based on a balance and trade off the project drivers, technical and non-technical requirements.
Implementing Strategies and delivery models.
Delivery of key business deliverables and milestones.
Responsible for their work and quality of the output.
Individual will be expected to flex and grow with the demands from the business.
Individual will be expected to travel on a as appropriate between the different sites to support the team.
Key selection criteria for this role are:

Criteria 1 - Product Development

Demonstrable experience/expertise of design, manufacture, operation, and maintenance of Valve and Actuators.
Experience of the product lifecycle of Valves and Actuators is preferable to enable an ability to lead
Ideally the candidate has examples of product development, manufacture, verification and safety cases, demonstrating understanding of the project maturity stages and be able to apply that knowledge.
The candidate will need to be able to balance product selection against competing requirements from all the different functions and stakeholders.
The candidate will need to be able to provide relevant experience or understanding of relevant industry standards such as ASME III, ASME QME-1, ISO, DIN etc.
Criteria 2 - Ability to build relationships internally and externally

The role requires the candidate to communicate and build relationships with a large variety of
stakeholders across the business, covering functions such as component design, system design, analysis, verification, manufacturing, supply chain, commercial, programme management and business development.
The candidate will be required to build relationships suppliers. This shall include leading initial contact, discussion of supplier offerings, progress meetings when in contract and manging any challenges through delivery.
The candidate will be required to support engagements with external stakeholders, including customers and regulators. This will include being capable of supporting a variety of discussions with third parties, as well as being capable of leading presentations on complex cross functional topics relevant to the role scope
Criteria 3 - Programme development & delivery

The candidate shall be required to develop, manage programmes of work for a defined scope of the role. This will include interacting with other teams delivering dependent activities to ensure progress is monitored and aligned with the integrated programme.
The candidate shall be required to input and engage in managing risks across the programme and ensure adequate mitigation activities are identified and implemented.
The candidate shall be required to support the implementation of the supply chain strategy and delivery models.
Criteria 4 - Team Environment

The candidate shall be required to work closely with colleagues, foster collaboration and innovation within the team, and maintain a positive inclusive team culture.
The candidate shall be an exceptional team player that is prepared to support any aspect of the business when required, display an appropriate questioning attitude and excel in periods of uncertainty within a learning culture.
This will include being willing to work in an ever changing and ambiguous environment and remain flexible to the evolving needs of the business
Criteria 5 - Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

The role requires the candidate to have the ability to work with multiple stakeholders internally and externally, create a supporting working environment, and communicate up and down the business hierarchy. The candidate will ideally have experience dealing with stakeholders internally and externally and be capable of bringing together and leading technical discussions with third parties.
Training & Qualifications requirements

The candidate will demonstrate actively working towards Institute recognition, also hold a relevant technical degree level qualification or HND.
The candidate will be expected to visit suppliers, local and abroad, as required.

Pay and Benefits

We anticipate paying a salary of between £40,000-£52,500 (DOE) plus:-

Bonus - Performance related bonus of up to 12.5%
Benefits Allowance - £2200, enabling you to create a bespoke package
Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days
Private Medical Insurance - BUPA single cover health care
