Trust Senior Manager – Accountancy Practice

A well-established accountancy and tax advisory practice in Thame is seeking a Senior Trust Manager to join its growing Trusts team. This is a senior, client-facing role with responsibility for a complex portfolio of UK trust and estate clients, alongside involvement in advisory work and mentoring junior team members.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced ACA or ACCA qualified Trust professional looking to step into a senior leadership position within a supportive and forward-thinking firm.

The Role

As Senior Trust Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Managing and reviewing a complex portfolio of Trust and Estate clients

Preparation and review of trust and estate tax returns and trust accounts

Reviewing Inheritance Tax (IHT) returns, including death estates, periodic and exit charges

Supporting Partners with trust advisory projects and technical trust matters

Overseeing ongoing trust administration, including the Trust Registration Service (TRS)

Acting as a trusted adviser to clients and trustees

Attending and leading Trustee meetings alongside Partners where required

Providing technical guidance, mentoring, and support to junior and mid-level team members

Ensuring work is delivered to a high technical standard and within deadlines

Candidate Profile

Fully qualified (ACA or ACCA preferred)

Minimum 3+ years’ post-qualified UK practice experience, ideally within a medium or large firm

Strong technical knowledge of UK trusts and estates and associated tax implications

Proven experience preparing and reviewing trust tax returns and trust accounts

Solid understanding of Inheritance Tax for trusts and estates

Agricultural and rural trust experience highly desirable

Experience using CCH tax and accounting software beneficial
