Prospero Teaching are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants/Support Staff to join our team across Hampshire for a September 2025 start.

As a key member of our alternative provision team, you will work 2:1 with students, supporting Tutors and Mentors in delivering tailored educational and emotional support to young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN). These students may face challenges that require a nurturing, patient, and flexible approach to learning.

Locations:

Opportunities available across Hampshire, including but not limited to: Southampton, Portsmouth, Basingstoke, Winchester, and surrounding areas.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide 2:1 support to students in alternative provision settings
Assist Tutors and Mentors in delivering personalised learning plans
Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Support students with emotional regulation, communication, and social skills
Monitor progress and contribute to student development reportsAbout you:

Experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferred)
A calm, empathetic, and resilient nature
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)Position - SEN Teaching Assistant

Experience working with children or young people with SEN
A calm, empathetic, and resilient nature
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
At least 1 year of experience working within UK schoolsTo be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

Hold right to work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide references upon request
Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
