Principal Fire Engineer - Manchester | Hybrid

Vertical Recruitment is partnering with one of the UK's most sought-after Fire Engineering Consultancies to recruit a Senior or Principal Fire Engineer for their Manchester office. This role has arisen due to sustained growth and offers a clear career progression pathway, working on high-profile projects across the UK and internationally.

About You:

*

5+ years of relevant Fire Engineering experience

*

Degree-qualified in an engineering or related discipline

*

Membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers (MIFireE, CEng) is desirable

*

Proven track record delivering fire safety engineering solutions in a consultancy environment, including fire strategies, engineering analysis, and performance-based designs

*

Strong knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations

*

Demonstrated leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities:

*

Produce high-quality reports and technical documentation

*

Apply fire engineering expertise across RIBA stages or equivalent design frameworks, understanding project challenges from client brief through to construction and operation

*

Negotiate and agree project scope, fees, and contractual terms with clients, while managing programme constraints and changes

*

Maintain a thorough understanding of the UK fire approvals process

*

Efficiently manage project resources to deliver objectives on time and to specification
