Overview:We are looking for confident and adaptable Cover Supervisors to support alternative provision settings across East Lancashire from September. This is an excellent opportunity for students, graduates, or individuals seeking flexible work while gaining valuable classroom experience.
Working within alternative provision, you will support students who may have additional needs, including social, emotional and behavioural challenges. A calm, resilient and proactive approach is key to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising classes in the absence of teaching staff
- Delivering pre-set lessons across a range of subjects
- Supporting student engagement and maintaining focus
- Managing behaviour in line with school expectations
- Providing general support across core subjects including Maths and English
- Building positive and professional relationships with students
Ideal Candidate:
- Background or interest in vocational subjects (e.g. sport, construction, performing arts, or other practical areas) is highly desirable
- Confident supporting Maths and English at a general level
- Strong communication and classroom presence
- Resilient, patient and able to manage challenging behaviour
- Experience working with young people is beneficial but not essential
