Job Title: Mechanical Fitter

Shifts: Monday - Thursday.

Hours: 07.30am - 16.30pm

Job Description:

If you are an experienced mechanic/Fitter this is an ideal opportunity to get into the rail industry working for a leading company based in Stoke on Trent.

You will deliver high quality production services (repair, overhaul, and modifications) in a safe and efficient manner. You will be responsible for the quality of own work, cleaning and tidying of work area.

We are looking for candidates with prior experience in mechanics and other transferable industries

This is a hands-on mechanical role, requiring precision, attention to detail, and a strong focus on quality and safety.

Job Duties:

Carry out maintenance, overhaul, strip-downs, rebuilds, and new builds.

Work to tight tolerances using precision measuring equipment.

Read and interpret technical and orthographical drawings and specifications.

Ensure all measuring equipment remains in calibration.

Adhere to COSHH requirements for materials and substances used during overhaul and manufacture.
Ensure all machinery PPM and daily maintenance activities are completed.

Report all incidents, accidents, and near misses in line with company procedures.

Comply with company and site safety plans, policies, and accreditations.
Undertake any other reasonable duties required to achieve business objectives.

Qualifications / Skill Sets

Hands-on mechanical engineering experience.

Ability to read and understand technical drawings.

Experience using precision measuring equipment.

Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances.

Programming experience would be an advantage.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

A proactive and safety-focused approach to work.
