This emerging name in pipeline monitoring solutions for the Utilities market are currently developing cutting edge technology which is allowing them to quickly become their clients preferred choice for the management and maintenance of their pipeline assets. With a global footprint covering Australia, UK, Europe and North America expand its activities to provide monitoring reports, analyses and recommendations to clients using data gathered from their technology deployed on water and wastewater pipeline networks.

As part of this expansion, this emerging name is seeking a hydraulic engineer to lead the growth of this area in conjunction with business development colleagues.

In this role you will be working on a variety of client projects analysing pressure, flow, water quality, noise, pump and valve performance together with GIS data to determine what operational issues are present, to provide guidance on their mitigation and to review the efficacy of any mitigation actions taken.

Given your previous experience as a Hydraulic Engineer you will be able to work confidently positively and effectively with clients, agreeing detailed briefs, ensuring their effective delivery, writing technical reports to a high standard and presenting to clients as required. Because of their support structure in place you will work with and be supported by other experienced engineers and technical staff

This role will see you reporting directly to the CEO and will require both national and international travel. Over time it is also anticipated additional employees will be recruited reporting in to the successful candidate.

As the successful candidate you will lead and be responsible for the provision of advisory services to end users of their technical solutions including advising on the locating of units, the data to be collected, the review and presentation of the data, mitigating actions where pipeline issues are identified, the review of the efficacy those actions and the creation and tracking of performance metrics for individual users.

You will work closely with colleagues in the business in terms both of their supporting the delivery of advisory services and you in turn supporting their activities, including both business development and technical and aid the business development team in constructing client proposals, scoping the hydraulic analysis portion of the project, determining which monitoring instruments to deploy and their locations and highlighting areas of uncertainty.

To be successful in this role you will need to have a relevant engineering background having had previous experience working within the pipeline market addressing Hydraulic Engineering issues or having had a background in pressure and flow in water distribution networks, pressure transients / water hammer and wave propagation in water networks.

Ideally you will also have had a background within hydraulic modelling, pipeline design or similar or you may have experience in modelling and simulating physical systems and structures. You may also have a more analytic or mathematical background, you may also have experience of machine learning or statistical analysis.

Your background will include experience in Matlab or python for data analysis, Hydraulic modelling, Physical system simulation software suite and Transient simulation

This is a permanent position with our client based in Norwich, the client is an employer with a flexible attitude to work hours.
