We are seeking a passionate and skilled Carpentry Technician to join our SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities) department. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a supportive environment and making a significant impact on the learning experience of students.
Day-to-day of the role: - Assist lecturers with the preparation of lessons, ensuring all materials and tools are ready for class.
- Maintain carpentry tools and the workshop/classroom/studio to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment.
- Support learners of various levels by providing guidance and assistance during practical sessions.
- Implement and uphold health and safety measures in the workshop, ensuring compliance with college policies.
- Contribute to the smooth running of the department by helping learners acquire the necessary skills for further study, employment, or apprenticeships.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - A carpentry qualification or a minimum of 3 years of industrial experience in carpentry.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of motivating and inspiring learners.
- Strong organizational skills and proficiency in IT to support efficient workshop management.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
