Design Manager

Design Manager - Infrastructure

Fanatastic opportunity for a Design Manager with a leading UK client. You will play an important role in the management and delivery of design for key infrastructure works for an interesting and prestigious design and build project based in the vibrant district of White City, London.


* Contributes to the review and selection process of the consultant and sub-contractor teams, this includes but is not limited to: agreements, fees, scope of deliverables, responsibilities, programmes.

* Manage the design, design procurement and development process in consideration of health & safety, programme, cost, sustainability, and quality requirements.

* Monitor, review, manage and report on the “buildability” of the design proposals in line with the agreed construction, consultant design programmes and cost plan

* Stimulate innovation and challenge technical proposals provided by the consultant team and the Employers Requirements to add value.

* Manage and track and record compliance with statutory bodies in relation to: planning consent and Building Regulations compliance and other third-party approvals.

* Manage and track and record compliance with technical legislation, standards codes of practice and industry good practice

* Identify and manage design and construction related risks, de-risk the design in in relation to CDM / health, safety and welfare, technical delivery, cost and programme.

* Produce and manage the consultant team inputs to RIBA Stage reports, obtain project steering group sign off.

* Manage the consultants in the coordination and production of the design.

* Contribute to the handover from the preconstruction team to the delivery team and once design is sufficiently complete


* Has a technical design background and a minimum a 7-years' experience in a Design Management role on projects that include civils and infrastructure and scope.

* Able to demonstrate a full understanding of the design process and design and design validation workflows.

* Experience working in a site-based role.

* Proven experience administering processes to demonstrate compliance with the CDM 2015 Regulations
