I have an EXCITING and EXTREMELY REWARDING opportunity for a Deputy Children's Residential Manager to join a new and exciting service to support Children in the Crediton area.

All staff members are expected to uphold the highest standards of care and vigilance to ensure the well-being and safety of those in our care.

To provide LEADERSHIP, advice, assistance, and support to children and young people, attending to their practical, physical, and emotional needs. As a Deputy Manager, you will oversee daily shifts, plan tasks, ensure care workers understand their responsibilities, and serve as an appropriate role model. You will also oversee medication administration, staff supervision, induction of new staff, and rota management. Additionally, you will supervise Senior Care Workers, complete probation and appraisal processes, and deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager.

This role is aiming to develop towards a Registered Manager role within 18 months and a new home opening.

Responsibilities of the Deputy Children's Residential Manager:

To encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
Provide personal care when required.
Provide support for people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
Maintain a safe environment for the service users.
Ensuring the safety of the students and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, reward system, and preferred method of communication.
Supporting taxing behaviours safely and sympathetically.Requirements:

6 months experience working in a similar setting is desirable.
NVQ or QCF level 3 in Adult Social Care (Essential)
A passion for supporting people living their lives
You MUST be a driver as you may be required to travel between sites during shift
