Role Overview
The Transport Router supports the Transport Team in planning and coordinating the logistics of waste collection and transportation activities. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient daily operations, accurate record-keeping, and high levels of customer satisfaction, while maintaining compliance with health and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Schedule and coordinate daily waste collection routes to ensure efficient operations
Liaise with drivers to communicate instructions, monitor progress, and resolve operational issues as they arise
Handle customer enquiries related to transport services in a professional and timely manner
Promote a positive health and safety culture by following procedures and participating in training and briefings
Assist with weighbridge operations, including accurate documentation and waste transfer notes
Represent the organisation professionally across all business activities
Qualifications / Experience
Previous experience in transportation or logistics (experience within waste management is desirable but not essential)
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Strong problem-solving skills, particularly when responding to unexpected operational challenges
Valid UK driving licence
Location & Employment Details
Based at a site in the Colchester area
Full-time, permanent position
Monday to Friday, with potential for overtime as required
Salary negotiable, depending on experience
