Job role: Sous Chef

Location: Central London

Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday

Houston & Hawkes are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and experienced Sous Chef who produce outstanding food using the finest and freshest ingredients at this highly prestigious contract in heart of London.

 Sous Chef Duties:

1. To manage the kitchen in the absence of the head chef
2. Setting up the kitchen and ensuring all ingredients are fresh and in date
3. Preparing ingredients, designing seasonal menu items, controlling and directing the food preparation process
4. Ensure the presentation of the food is consistent with the standards set by head chef
5. Focusing on all customers including guests, staff and visitors & meeting dietary and allergen requirements whilst ensuring quality of food and service
6. Demonstrate Personal Development.

Sous Chef Requirements:

1. Proven experience in contract catering, 5* hotel or fine dining restaurant
2. A genuine passion for food
3. Industry acumen and knowledge of external catering developments & innovations
4. Ability to work efficiently and competently under pressure
5. Excellent time management and organisational skills
6. High level of self-motivation and not constrained by conventional time keeping
7. 706/2 or NVQ chef qualifications, or equivalent
8. Honesty, transparency and consistency, someone who can gain and hold the respect of other
9. Personal innovation and passion
10. Demonstrative customer focus and service skills
11. Computer literate
