Freight Pricing Specialist - BIrmingham

Our client, an internationally renowned freight forwarding company based in Birmingham, is looking for an experienced pricing specialist to join their ever expanding team.

A confident communicator, with exceptional negotiating skills, you will have a wealth of industry knowledge of ocean freight - inbound, outbound, and cross trade.

You will have a sharp eye for detail and a proven ability to deliver high-quality service.

With strong numerical and commercial acumen, you will have confidence using a variety of computer systems and will be proactive, team-orientated and used to working to tight deadlines and thriving under pressure.

The role responsibilities include:

* Managing customer quotations through varying methods, including email and online portals.

* Supporting with all aspects of ocean pricing including imports, exports and cross trade.

* Negotiating rates with carriers, hauliers and suppliers; confirming equipment availability and agreeing prices where no tariff exists to ensure cost-effective solutions.

* Preparing and submitting customer quotations and proposals .

* Creating and issuing quotations using our in-house system.

* Communicating with customers to follow up on quotes and obtain feedback to measure, analyse and circulate to the relevant teams, adjusting pricing where possible to ensure we secure

* opportunities.

* Collaborating with ocean freight operational teams to ensure smooth handover of secured shipments.

* Monitoring and reporting on the success and failure rates of quotations to management.

* Developing strong relationships to deliver exceptional customer service.
