About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fleet Engineer to join a dynamic team, playing a critical role in supporting the safe, compliant, and high-performing delivery of fleet maintenance operations. As a key member of the engineering team, you will act as the technical interface between maintenance delivery, material support, and client stakeholders—ensuring product safety, performance, and reliability across the rolling stock portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Support the maintenance delivery team in the safe and effective execution of engineering activities
*
Create, review, and maintain block cards in line with technical documentation and service instructions
*
Proactively monitor and enforce quality standards and compliance controls across fleet activities
*
Act as an engineering interface with internal teams and clients regarding safety cases, performance, and reliability
*
Ensure all maintenance activities are accurately recorded within the Maintenance Management System (MMS)
*
Assist in product safety management processes, including incident investigation and mitigation planning
*
Work closely with materials and operational teams to ensure timely delivery of spares and support services
*
Contribute to performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
*
Ensure all documentation, standards, and engineering practices comply with legislative and client requirements
What We're Looking For
*
Experience in a fleet engineering, maintenance, or rolling stock environment (essential)
*
Sound understanding of rail safety and compliance standards
*
Familiarity with Maintenance Management Systems (e.g., Equniox, Maximo, Ellipse, Trimble EAM)
*
Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills
*
Ability to work collaboratively across functions including maintenance, supply chain, and client teams
*
Engineering qualifications (HNC/HND minimum, ideally in mechanical/electrical discipline)
Desirable
*
Experience in product safety management or RAMS analysis
*
Knowledge of train performance and reliability improvement strategies
*
Exposure to working with or creating technical documentation, such as block cards or engineering instructions
