Our hugely successful client is looking to recruit a Head of People to join their team at their offices based in Preston. This organisation is well-established within the construction sector and is growing steadily, with culture, leadership and capability at the heart of its success.
This is a senior strategic role shaping culture, leadership development, organisational capability and workforce planning during an exciting phase of growth.
The Opportunity
As part of the senior leadership team, you’ll lead the People, Culture and Learning agenda, agenda ensuring the organisation has the capability, leadership and infrastructure needed for future success. This role is ideal for a senior people leader who wants to influence at Board level and build a high-performing, inclusive and learning-led organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a small internal People / L&D team.
- Shape and deliver the People Strategy aligned to organisational objectives.
- Embed a positive, inclusive and high-performance culture.
- Develop and implement the L&D strategy, leadership development and capability frameworks.
- Lead performance, appraisal and development processes.
- Drive early careers, apprenticeships and internal career pathways.
- Manage L&D and recruitment budgets.
- Lead workforce planning, succession planning and organisational design.
- Oversee people governance, compliance and accreditation readiness.
- Influence at Board level and chair quarterly capability reviews.
Required experience:
- Senior leadership experience in HR / People / L&D.
- Proven experience delivering people and L&D strategies.
- Expertise in leadership development, capability building and culture change.
- Confident advising and influencing Directors and senior leaders.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, governance and best practice.
- Strategic thinker who can translate strategy into delivery.
- Collaborative, values-led and commercially aware.
- CIPD L7 (desirable) or equivalent experience.
