TeacherActive are currently working with a dedicated small Secondary SEND School in Stone, they are currently looking for a full-time Challenging Behaviour Mentor to join the team.
The school have a highly qualified, experienced and dedicated team of staff who work hard every day to support, guide and motivate every pupil who walks in the door as well as providing support to their families to enable each child to achieve the success that they deserve.
The school provide not only Academic support for each pupil to encourage a growth towards achieving success in adulthood, but also Emotional, Social and Personal support to ensure they are able to tackle any difficulties life may throw at them, in a calm and appropriate way. This involves creating an individual plan for each child and ensuring that this is kept up to date by teaching and support staff each day.
The fantastic staff base is committed to giving every pupil every opportunity to achieve the highest standards including those with diverse needs.
Your role will be to provide classroom-based support for a select few pupils who struggle with their behaviour management, you will be required to encourage positive reactions and appropriately manage and deescalate challenging moments and behaviours.
The ideal candidate will have restraint and de-escalation training or experience in a similar role.
The role will include:
- Assisting the teacher with lesson preparation
- 1:1 work with students who require additional support
- Leading group work
- Helping the class teacher with pupil observations
