Hire Desk Controller 
Location: Oxfordshire
Hours: Monday to Friday
Salary: £30,000

I am currently working with a Powered Access & Plant Hire company based in Oxfordshire that is looking to appoint a Hire Desk Controller to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Hire Desk Controller who enjoys working in a fast-moving environment and takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service.

As a Hire Desk Controller, you will play a central role in ensuring the smooth running of daily hire operations. The successful Hire Desk Controller will manage enquiries, coordinate logistics, and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Handling incoming hire enquiries via telephone and email in a professional and efficient manner

Processing hire orders accurately, ensuring all details are correct

Coordinating deliveries and collections with customers, drivers, and depot teams

Liaising with the workshop to confirm equipment availability and manage turnaround times

Acting as the first point of contact for customer queries, providing clear and knowledgeable support

Maintaining accurate records and supporting the day-to-day administration of the hire desk

Requirements:

Previous experience as a Hire Desk Controller or within plant hire, construction, or a similar environment

Strong communication and customer service skills

Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively

Confident using hire systems and standard computer software

Calm under pressure with a proactive and solution-focused approach
