SEN Teaching Assistant - Minehead

Location: Minehead, Somerset
Contract: Full-time, long-term (with potential to go permanent)
Pay: £14.66 per hour PAYE / £16.14 per hour Umbrella
Start: ASAP

Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner schools in the Minehead area. This is a fantastic opportunity to support children with special educational needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

The Role

Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with a range of SEN, including ASC, ADHD, SEMH and cognition & learning needs
Supporting pupils in accessing the curriculum and engaging positively in learning
Assisting the class teacher with tailored interventions and differentiated activities
Helping create a calm, safe and supportive classroom atmosphere
Encouraging independence, emotional regulation and confidence in pupils

The Ideal Candidate

Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school, care, support work, or similar)
Patient, resilient and empathetic approach
Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
Good communication skills and a proactive attitude
Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
