About the Role

We are seeking dedicated and resilient Support Workers to join our team within a secure unit for young people aged 10-18 in Peterborough. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who require structured support, guidance, and positive role models.

You will play a key role in creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment while promoting the welfare and development of the young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build positive, professional relationships with young people
  • Actively engage and interact with young people throughout your shift
  • Encourage participation in educational, recreational, and life-skills activities
  • Promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all young people at all times
  • Maintain awareness of safeguarding procedures and follow security protocols
  • Accurately record incidents, observations, and daily reports
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with young people (residential, secure, youth work, SEN, or similar settings desirable)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Flexible and reliable approach to shift work (days and waking nights)
  • A caring, patient, and resilient nature
