Main Duties

As an Accounts Technician you'll enjoy a diverse and rewarding role, including:

*

Preparing financial statements for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders up to the audit threshold

*

Preparing personal and corporate tax computations and returns

*

Providing bookkeeping and management accounting services

*

Filing documents with Companies House and HMRC on behalf of clients

*

Ensuring accounting records are maintained accurately and kept up to date

*

Preparing and completing quarterly VAT returns

*

Working in line with internal policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements

*

Providing general administrative support to Partners, Managers, and the wider office

Experience

Ideally, you'll have:

*

A minimum of 1-2 years' experience working in an accountancy practice (essential)

*

AAT qualification, or be part-qualified with ongoing studies, or qualified by experience

*

Previous experience preparing accounts for limited companies and unincorporated businesses

*

A friendly, positive, and approachable manner

*

Confidence in dealing with clients and colleagues at all levels

*

Resilience, flexibility, and the ability to manage multiple tasks

*

Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail

*

Initiative and the ability to prioritise your workload to meet deadlines

*

A professional and team-oriented approach

*

Good working knowledge of general IT (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and basic social media tools)

*

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely
