Take a drive into the countryside close to Welshpool and you will find a therapeutic community for Children who have experienced trauma. The children are cared for by passionate, empathetic, and compassionate adults who take time to listen to the children and support their wishes and feelings.

Adverse childhood experiences can lead to low self-esteem, difficulty with confidence and trouble building safe and trusting relationships. This may impact their education and motivation to learn. The children you work with will have experienced trauma, possibly including abuse or neglect so taking time to understand their perspective is key to supporting them in a child-centred and individual way. As a Children's Emotional Wellbeing Support Worker, the top qualities we look for are to be engaging, reflective and proactive.

Offering bespoke care that is individual to every child, this service has care, education and therapy services all on one site. Their services are theoretically informed and evidence based to ensure that we can give the children we support can be positive members of our society as young adults. With a multi-disciplinary team you will use a number of different well informed practices to create a therapeutic environment for our young people.

Salary - £25,000- £27,000 with no sleep ins required

Children's Emotional Wellbeing Support Worker Responsibilities:

To personally tailor the support, you provide to the children to suit their individual wishes, feelings and needs
To provide individual care plans utilising a range of therapeutic approaches to ensure that the children are offered the best support possible
To positively engage with the children throughout their day providing encouragement, compassion, empathy, and enthusiasm
Providing a consistently supportive environment for the children to thrive - establishing a routine that works for the children
Creating a safe and trusting environment for the children to develop physical, cognitive, and emotional skills
Supporting their individual independence with social and life skills
To support children to cope with and find acceptance regarding the trauma they may have experienced
Working alongside an education and clinical team on a daily basis Children's Emotional Wellbeing Support Worker Benefits:

Additional pay for overtime of between £16 - 17.30 per hour.
No sleep ins required but if you'd like to do some they are paid £100 per sleep

Progression encouraged and proactively supported Children's Emotional Wellbeing Support Worker Requirements:

Must hold a full UK driving licence
Hold or willing to work towards a Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification or equivalent
Ideally experience working in a residential childcare environment or similar
Have a good understanding of childhood trauma
