An established and approachable law firm is seeking to recruit a full-time Residential Conveyancing Assistant to join its friendly and well-regarded residential property team based in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, well-organised legal assistant looking to develop their career within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Carrying out general administrative tasks
- Preparing and submitting quotes to clients
- Handling queries from clients, solicitors, lenders, and estate agents
- Providing client updates and monitoring matter progression
- Opening and closing files on the case management system in line with AML, quality standards, SRA, and CQS regulations
- Supporting leasehold transactions
- Conducting online searches
- Using the Land Registry portal to submit registrations, respond to requisitions, and obtain official copies, leases, and title plans
- Generating Stamp Duty Land Tax calculations and submitting applications
- Preparing and submitting bills, receipts, and payments to the finance team on behalf of fee earners
- Providing occasional reception cover
Requirements- Previous experience as a conveyancing assistant preferred
- Good understanding of the day-to-day operations of a legal office
- Advanced computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Working knowledge of case management software
- Strong English language proficiency
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure
- High attention to detail
- Basic understanding of the conveyancing process
Job Details- Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:15 (office-based) with a one-hour lunch break
