An established and approachable law firm is seeking to recruit a full-time Residential Conveyancing Assistant to join its friendly and well-regarded residential property team based in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, well-organised legal assistant looking to develop their career within a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carrying out general administrative tasks
  • Preparing and submitting quotes to clients
  • Handling queries from clients, solicitors, lenders, and estate agents
  • Providing client updates and monitoring matter progression
  • Opening and closing files on the case management system in line with AML, quality standards, SRA, and CQS regulations
  • Supporting leasehold transactions
  • Conducting online searches
  • Using the Land Registry portal to submit registrations, respond to requisitions, and obtain official copies, leases, and title plans
  • Generating Stamp Duty Land Tax calculations and submitting applications
  • Preparing and submitting bills, receipts, and payments to the finance team on behalf of fee earners
  • Providing occasional reception cover
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a conveyancing assistant preferred
  • Good understanding of the day-to-day operations of a legal office
  • Advanced computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of case management software
  • Strong English language proficiency
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure
  • High attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of the conveyancing process
Job Details
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:15 (office-based) with a one-hour lunch break
