Job Summary

We are recruiting a Financial Services Audit Senior in Newcastle to manage day-to-day audit engagements, review complex work, and support the development of junior staff. This is an ideal opportunity for a CA/ACA/ACCA-qualified professional with experience in financial services audits and client-facing roles.

You will manage client audit files from planning to completion, ensure deadlines and budgets are met, and maintain strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete or oversee audit planning documentation and schedules
• Arrange timing of audit work with the Audit Manager
• Plan, schedule, and delegate tasks to Audit Assistants, supporting them to complete work to the required standard
• Brief, train, and debrief Audit Assistants, providing constructive feedback
• Liaise with client staff and build strong, professional relationships
• Monitor budgeted versus actual time, flagging scope, fieldwork, or overrun issues promptly
• Keep clients informed of progress while maintaining confidentiality
• Ensure audit files are completed to a high standard and ready for review

About You

• CA, ACA, or equivalent qualified; part-qualified candidates may be considered with relevant experience
• Experience in financial services audits or similar roles preferred
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Proactive, client-focused, and able to take ownership of work
• Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing clients and colleagues
• Leadership mindset with the ability to mentor and support junior staff
