Are you an ambitious and dedicated leader ready to take the next step in your career? We are seeking an aspiring Deputy Headteacher to join our forward-thinking Alternative Provision (AP) in Burnley. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced teacher or a current middle leader to make a profound impact on the lives of our most vulnerable students.

We are a small, dedicated school committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where every young person can re-engage with their education. Your leadership will be pivotal in shaping our school's vision, driving positive outcomes, and ensuring our provision is of the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Support the Headteacher in the day-to-day management of the school and the strategic development of our alternative provision curriculum.

  • Pastoral and Safeguarding: Lead on pastoral care and be a driving force for our safeguarding culture, ensuring the well-being of all students.

  • Teaching and Learning: Oversee the quality of teaching and learning, mentoring staff, and implementing innovative teaching strategies for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

  • Student Outcomes: Use data effectively to monitor student progress and implement targeted interventions to help every child achieve their full potential.

  • Partnerships: Build strong relationships with parents, external agencies, and the wider Burnley community to create a supportive network around our students.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a dynamic leader with QTS and a proven track record of success in a school or AP setting. You will have the passion, resilience, and empathy required to inspire both students and staff.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and significant leadership experience.

  • A genuine passion for working with students who have faced barriers to learning.

  • An in-depth understanding of safeguarding procedures and policies within an educational context.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team.

  • A strong commitment to continuous professional development.
