Management Accountant

Location: Southend (Hybrid – 4 days in the office)Salary: Up to £60,000Reporting to: Head of Finance

Reed Finance are partnered with a growing business who are recruiting a Management Accountant to join their finance function, reporting directly to the Head of Finance. This is a hands-on role offering broad exposure across management reporting, statutory accounts and compliance, with excellent opportunity to develop within a growing finance team whilst acting as a Number two to the HoF.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
• Assisting with the production of statutory accounts in line with accounting standards and deadlines
• Supporting the year-end audit process, acting as a key point of contact for auditors
• Preparation and submission of VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements
• Balance sheet reconciliations and maintenance of accurate financial records
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
• Working closely with the Head of Finance and wider finance team to improve financial controls and processes

About You

• Newly qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
• Proven experience preparing management accounts
• Exposure to statutory accounts, audit support and VAT returns
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Confident communicator, able to work collaboratively within a team environment
