Premises Officer / Caretaker (Full-Time - 5 Days per Week)
Location: Secondary Schools across Southwark

We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and proactive Premises Officer / Caretaker to join a welcoming and well-established secondary school environment in Southwark. This is a full-time, five-day-per-week role, ideal for a professional who takes pride in maintaining safe, clean, and efficient school facilities.

About the Role
As a key member of the school's operational team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the premises. You will play a vital role in creating a safe and positive environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the general maintenance, cleanliness, and security of the school site
Carry out repairs, basic plumbing, electrical, and general DIY tasks
Manage site opening and closing procedures
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and procedures
Liaise with contractors and external service providers
Support with setting up rooms and facilities for school activities and events
Monitor and maintain school equipment and report any issues promptlyRequirements

Proven experience working as a Premises Officer, Caretaker, or in a similar role within a school or large facility
Strong practical knowledge of maintenance, health and safety, and site management
A proactive and hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving skills
Good communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
