About the Role:Reed Education is seeking a compassionate and proactive SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a mainstream primary school in Peterborough. This rewarding role involves working closely with children who may face emotional or behavioural challenges, helping them to thrive both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils with SEMH needs in the classroom and during structured activities.
• Assist teachers in delivering inclusive lessons and implementing individual support plans.
• Provide one-to-one and small group interventions focused on emotional wellbeing and social development.
• Help manage behaviour positively and consistently, promoting a calm and supportive learning environment.
• Encourage independence and resilience in pupils through tailored support.
• Collaborate with staff and external professionals to ensure holistic support for each child.
• Prepare resources and contribute to classroom organisation.

Candidate Requirements:

• Experience working with children with SEMH needs (preferred but not essential).
• Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s emotional and educational development.
