An NHS Trust based in Essex is seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join their Estates and Facilities team. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a leadership role within a highly respected healthcare organisation, managing a small, skilled team of in-house engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

*

Lead and supervise a team of mechanical engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality maintenance and compliance services across the Trust's estate.

*

Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and minor project works.

*

Ensure all works are carried out in line with statutory, mandatory, and NHS compliance requirements.

*

Act as an Authorised Person (AP) in disciplines such as Ventilation, Medical Gas, or Water Systems (highly desirable).

*

Manage contractors and service providers where necessary, ensuring service standards and compliance are maintained.

*

Support the Estates Management Team in the development of strategies to improve operational effectiveness.

Requirements:

*

Significant mechanical building services experience, ideally within a healthcare or similarly complex environment.

*

Previous supervisory or leadership experience within an estates or facilities team.

*

Recognised mechanical engineering qualification (e.g., HNC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent).

*

AP status (or willingness to work towards) in Ventilation, Medical Gas or Water Systems is highly desirable.

*

Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and statutory compliance requirements.
