Management Accountant (Contract) | West Kent | Up to £45k

Our client is currently recruiting for a Management Accountant on a fixed term contract for 15 months. The role working for a leading SME based in West Kent. In the role you will have the opportunity to take ownership of the management accounts function, contribute to year-end statutory reporting, and play a key part in maintaining robust financial controls.

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will take responsibility for:

• Delivery of monthly management accounts and forecasts within tight timeframes
• Preparation of the annual budgets
• Preparation of the year end Statutory Financial Statements and group reporting packs. First point of contact for the external auditors
• Manage the purchase ledger function
• Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts
• Preparation of quarterly VAT returns and annual R&D claims.
• Proactively monitor and review financial controls for breaches and effectiveness
• Produce monthly overhead cost reports, profit and loss accounts, balance sheets and management accounts. Investigate and report upon variances
• Build excellent working relationships with operational staff to ensure finance issues are resolved quickly and efficiently
• Provide monthly balance sheet back up and reconciliations

You will have:

• Ideally with experience of managing a small team
• Ability to manage and prioritise own workload and work to specific deadlines
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and through presentation of written data
• Strong work ethic
• Proactive approach and able to work independently when required

Full UK driving licence is required as travel to the other sites may be required.
