Salary: £100000 - £130000 / annually

Grafton Banks Finance Executive Search is currently recruiting for an Interim Finance Director for a Brighton Based financial services business on a six month contract. Successful candidates will be locally based, ACA qualified practice trained individuals with subsequent SME experience and experience of working within the financial services sector. This is a hands on role and requires the FD to manage the following:

  • Take a lead role in the production of year-end (statutory) consolidated financial statements and associated notes to the accounts
  • Take ownership of the accounts for presentation to the Finance and Audit Committee, and in
  • readiness for external publication
  • Oversight of the bookkeeping
  • Ensuring that the most appropriate accounting policies are applied; dealing with technical issues when they arise.
  • Maintenance and development of all finance and accounting policies and procedures
  • Review of monthly bank reconciliations, revaluations and trial balances for accuracy and
  • completeness
  • Production of Monthly Management Accounts
  • Helping to ensure corporate objectives are delivered within budget
  • Develop, implement and maintain financial controls in liaison with outsourced finance department
  • Oversee Opex Budget/Actual Variance reporting, liaise regularly with outsourced Finance Department and periodically with its Tax Department, manage VAT returns implementation and invoicing
  • Help manage shareholder relations including liaison with other key corporate departments and the management of services agreement with outsourced finance team including monitoring procurement of external services
  • Help manage and further develop key policies in all areas of corporate activity and establish strong systems of control for budgeting, expenditure, and audit
  • Where appropriate help identify, negotiate with and retain external finance consultants on favourable terms for the Company
  • Help ensure all meetings of the Audit Committee are held on time, with high quality papers
  • Liaise with external auditor and respond to audit questions

This role would ideally suit a technically trained candidate who is able to roll their sleeves up and manage the day to day accounts. You must have previous financial services sector experience in order to apply and be available at short notice.
