Tradewind Recruitment are working with a Primary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Hillingdon, who are looking to appoint a skilled and committed Behaviour Mentor from September 2025.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support primary-aged children who have faced difficulties in mainstream education and require targeted support for Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, and behavioural challenges.
The Role:As a Behaviour Mentor in a primary PRU, your role will focus on early intervention and helping pupils develop the skills to re-engage positively with learning. You will:

Provide individual and small group support tailored to each child's needs

Model positive behaviour and encourage resilience, confidence, and self-regulation

Use behaviour management and de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe and structured environment

Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to deliver consistent support strategies

Build trusting relationships with pupils and families to promote progress both in and out of the classroom
What We're Looking For:

Experience working with children with challenging behaviour, ideally in a PRU, SEMH school, or alternative provision

A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach suited to primary-aged pupils

Strong communication and the ability to build rapport quickly

Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and trauma-informed practice is highly valued

Team Teach, MAPA or equivalent training is desirable (training can be provided)

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
