We are seeking a dedicated Teaching and Learning (TLA) Lead to drive improvements in the quality of teaching, learning, and assessment at FE College based in Cheshire. This pivotal role involves implementing robust coaching, mentoring, and peer learning walk models, promoting continuous improvement, and ensuring high standards of delivery through tailored CPD initiatives and strategic interventions. The TLA Lead will actively contribute to building a culture of excellence, enhancing learner outcomes, and aligning all practices with the college’s framework for Teaching & Learning.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Share and promote exemplary teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, encouraging staff to share best practices and learn from each other.
  • Ensure equality, diversity, and inclusion are central to teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Act as digital advocates in faculty areas, providing training and support for tutors and assessors in the development of digital skills and the use of learning technologies.
  • Champion digital platforms and resources, driving their adoption and effective usage across departments.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and developmental support to both new and established staff.
  • Collaborate with teachers, assessors, Programme Leaders, and Curriculum Area Managers to develop strategies for improving learner outcomes.
  • Organise and support peer observations and informal CPD within and across departments.
  • Conduct regular Learning Walks, providing constructive feedback and guidance on effective teaching strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with the Quality Assurance team to drive improvement and implement recommendations through quality improvement plans.
  • Lead on and contribute to additional projects that align with the college strategy.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Recognised teaching qualification and a degree-level qualification or relevant professional qualifications.
  • Relevant recent experience of delivering high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment in an educational setting.
  • Experience in embedding digital tools and innovative technologies into teaching and learning.
  • Proven ability to support, mentor, and coach staff to improve teaching practices.
  • Experience in designing and delivering CPD and professional development activities.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and improvement processes in education.
  • Highly competent in using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
