Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Location: Clacton-On-Sea, Essex

Salary: £38,000 + Company Pension

Hours: Monday–Thursday 07:00–16:30 | Friday 07:00–11:00

A well-established precision engineering manufacturer is looking to add an Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (electrical bias) to its growing maintenance team.

The company produces high-precision machined components and advanced polymer materials used in specialist applications for customers worldwide. With continued investment in equipment and production capability, they are looking for a hands-on engineer to support the reliability and performance of their manufacturing operations.

The Role

This is a practical, site-based maintenance role supporting both electrical and mechanical systems across the facility. The successful candidate will focus primarily on electrical fault finding, installations, and ensuring machinery operates safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fault finding and repair of electrical breakdowns on production machinery and site circuits
  • Diagnosing mechanical issues including pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on manufacturing equipment
  • Supporting new electrical installations and testing when required
  • Assisting with machine upgrades and site improvement projects
  • Maintaining safe and reliable single and three-phase electrical systems

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in electrical maintenance within manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Strong fault-finding ability across electrical systems and machinery
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics
  • Experience working with single and three-phase systems
  • Electrical qualifications such as City & Guilds 2365 or equivalent desirable
  • Mechanical maintenance experience including pneumatics and hydraulics
  • 18th Edition certification beneficial (training may be provided)
