Supercare is looking for a compassionate, agile, and highly motivated Night Support Worker to join our Ofsted Children's Residential Home for up to 6 young people. About the Role

As a Nights Support Worker, you will play a key role in creating a positive, safe, and nurturing environment for the young people in our care. This role is ideal for candidates who are confident, adaptable, and passionate to making a real difference in the lives of children with diverse and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality care, guidance, and support to young people within the home.

  • Support young people in developing life skills, independence, and positive routines.

  • Respond confidently and calmly to challenging behaviour, using therapeutic trauma-informed and child-centred approaches.

  • Build trusting, respectful relationships with young people through positive interaction and consistent boundaries.

  • Manage and respond to epilepsy-related needs and medical protocols, ensuring safety at all times.

  • Work collaboratively with the wider team to maintain a stable, supportive home environment.

  • Participate in care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies.

  • Promote safeguarding and uphold the highest standards of professional conduct.

  • Contribute to a positive team culture where communication, respect, and reliability are essential.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Agile and adaptable, able to respond effectively to changing situations and the needs of young people.

  • Experienced or trained in epilepsy awareness, rescue medication, or supporting individuals with severe epilepsy (training will be provided).

  • Experienced in supporting non-verbal or minimally verbal young people, using communication methods such as: Widgit symbols, Makaton, PECS or other alternative communication strategies.

  • Confident in managing challenging behaviour using safe and de-escalation methods.

  • Skilled in engaging and interacting with young people, building rapport and offering emotional support.

  • Resilient, patient, and passionate about improving outcomes for children.

  • A strong team player, committed to maintaining a positive 'home away from home' for all.
