About the Role:

We are working with a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in the Buttershaw area of Bradford, known for its strong community spirit and commitment to educational progress. This is a full-time, temporary role starting ASAP until the end of the summer term, ideal for an experienced English Teacher or a confident ECT ready to make a lasting impact. The school offers a supportive leadership team and a strong emphasis on student well being, academic rigour, and high-quality teaching.

Location: Bradford (Buttershaw Area)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary (Until the End of the Summer Term)

Essential Requirements

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Strong subject knowledge and curriculum awareness
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Years 7-11)
  • Prepare students for GCSE English Language and Literature
  • Mark and assess work, providing constructive feedback
  • Track student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
  • Differentiate lessons to support varied learning needs
  • Establish and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and support staff
  • Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment
  • Encourage student participation in discussions and debates
