The RoleAs Health and Safety Coordinator you will take responsibility for ensuring compliance with legislation and industry standards, while supporting continuous improvement in site safety. Key responsibilities include:

• Managing all aspects of health and safety, including risk and COSHH assessments, policies and procedures
• Leading audits, inspections and accident investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented
• Delivering inductions, refresher training and supporting safety awareness across the workforce
• Overseeing permits to work and contractor safety management
• Taking responsibility for fire safety systems, checks, records and third-party liaison
• Providing advice and guidance on asbestos management and site safety protocols

The PersonThe successful Health and Safety Officer will bring the following skills and experience:

• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (minimum)
• Experienced in a dedicated health and safety role within manufacturing or distribution 
• Strong knowledge of current legislation and ability to apply this in a manufacturing setting
• Experience in safety management systems and report writing
• Confident communicator with strong organisational and analytical skills
• Skilled in contractor management and issuing permits to work
• Computer literate and confident in delivering training sessions
