Are you a caring, patient, and enthusiastic professional with a passion for helping young learners thrive? Prospero Teaching are looking for a dedicated Tutor to support a bright and curious young person who is transitioning into Year 9 and eager to reconnect with learning.

This young person has been out of school for some time and is excited to work with a Tutor who can help them build confidence and fill gaps in Maths and English. The role involves creating engaging, tailored sessions that support academic progress and emotional well being.

Learner Profile:

Transitioning into Year 9
Has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) - experience with SEN learners is highly desirable
Loves cars, enjoys laughing, and has a playful bond with their dog
Thrives with positive, patient, and encouraging support

As a Tutor you will:

Deliver engaging and individualised tuition in English and Maths
Build a trusting and supportive relationship with the learner
Adapt teaching strategies to meet the learner's specific needs and pace
Encourage confidence, independence, and a love of learningAbout you:

Experience working with learners with SEN or those needing additional academic support
Strong subject knowledge in English and Maths
A nurturing, encouraging, and flexible teaching style
Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
Experience of working within UK schools for one year or morePosition - SEN Tutor
Contract or position start date - ASAP
Contract or position end date (if applicable) - N/A
Full time/part-time - Opportunities for both
Hours - 15 Hours per week- for the right candidate, this can be increased to full time.

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIAL

Experience of working with learners with SEN/SEMH needs

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

Hold right to work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide references upon request
Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
