We're recruiting a part-time Financial Assistant to join a small, friendly Accounts team. This is a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day running of the purchase and sales ledgers, with scope to develop your skills further. On-site training is provided, and AAT progression support is available for the right candidate.

Key details:

Hours: 20-25 hours per week (Monday to Friday, with some flexibility for the right person)

Holiday: 5.6 weeks (28 days incl. Bank Holidays) pro rata (Year 1 / part-time)

Salary: £26,300-£28,300 per annum (pro rata based on 37.5 hours) / £13.50-£14.50 per hour DOE

Probation: 6 months

Training/Induction: Provided on site

H&S / PPE: Provided

Key responsibilities:

Support an efficient and accurate accounts function within a small team

Manage Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger activity

Accounts Payable (AP): process invoices accurately and on time, ensure timely payments, reconcile supplier statements

Accounts Receivable (AR): handle sales ledger queries, credit control, process credit notes, support debt referral process

Run/assist with credit checks and reports for new customers

Assist with month-end, year-end and audit preparation as required

Use and update various electronic portals

Provide cover for colleagues during periods of absence

Maintain clear records, filing and keep systems up to date

Essential skills & experience:

AAT Level 2 (or equivalent)

Previous experience in an accounting office environment

Strong organisation and admin skills with a methodical approach

Confident communication skills (phone/email)

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Fluent English (spoken and written)

Able to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities

Microsoft Office 365, with intermediate Excel skills

Desirable:

Manufacturing environment experience

e-Banking platforms / software integration experience (HSBC)

EFACS or SAP experience
