We are recruiting for a Shift Supervisor to join our friendly team at our Linford Block Plant, conveniently located near Stanford-le-Hope in Essex. The site is easily accessible from Tilbury, Gravesend, Rochester, Gillingham, Dartford, Purfleet, Grays, Wickford, Southend-on-Sea, Basildon, Brentwood, Billericay, and the surrounding areas.

Our Linford Plant produces sustainable, durable, and energy-efficient aerated blocks that you'll find in homes and workplaces everywhere. This is a 40-hour per week, 24/7 shift role.

As part of the site production team, you will focus on delivering and leading exceptional SHE standards while meeting operational and financial targets. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for the safe operation of the plant, ensuring daily tasks are completed, including general site housekeeping, basic maintenance, and the safe and efficient operation of both mobile and fixed plant. You will act as a leader within the shift, coordinating labour, supporting training and development, and fostering strong team relationships. Flexibility and strong people skills are key.

Main Responsibilities

Lead, train, and manage the shift team, contractors, and hauliers.

Ensure efficient labour use and production of high-quality products.

Maintain Health & Safety compliance and promote a safety-first culture.

Oversee daily housekeeping, mobile plant cleanliness, and preventative maintenance.

Complete site inspections, daily compliance checks, and record KPIs.

Coordinate maintenance activities and liaise with production and maintenance teams.

Identify opportunities for operational, SHE, and process improvements.

Follow site procedures, risk assessments, and operational restrictions.

Ideal Candidate

Manufacturing process experience.

Knowledge of heavy plant and equipment.

PC literate (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Familiar with ISO standards (9001, 14001, 18001, 50001).

Strong verbal and written communication skills
