Deputy Ward Manager – Mental Health Rehabilitation Service

Salary: Up to £43,300 per year | Full-Time Hours, Mix of Supernumerary & Clinical Shifts |

 

Our client is looking for an experienced Deputy Ward Manager to join a well-established mental health rehabilitation service with a Good CQC rating. This is an exciting opportunity for a registered mental health nurse (RMN) who is ready to take the next step in leadership while still staying connected to hands-on clinical care.

 

Working alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team, you’ll support the delivery of high-quality, recovery-focused care for adults with a range of mental health conditions, helping them achieve greater independence and wellbeing.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) qualification and valid NMC PIN.
  • Previous leadership or senior nurse experience in a mental health setting.
  • Strong understanding of rehabilitation approaches for mental health conditions.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and decision-making skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of care and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Ward Manager with day-to-day operational and clinical leadership.
  • Lead, motivate, and mentor nursing and support staff to deliver safe, effective, person-centred care.
  • Oversee care planning and ensure compliance with CQC standards.
  • Balance supernumerary management duties with clinical shifts to stay engaged in frontline care.
  • Foster a positive, recovery-focused environment that empowers service users.
  • Work collaboratively with families, carers, and external professionals.
